It is a free,cross platform and instant messaging application. This application was first released to the public on the January , 2011 and since then it has remained one of the standalone application used by many.
However, as at the month of May, 2016, Wechat had about a billion created account and 700 million active users. It had more than 864 million active users in the year 2016.
Features of wechat include text messaging, hold to talk voice messaging, broadcast( one to many) messaging , video calling, video games,location sharing, sharing of photographs and videos. Contacts can be exchanged with people close by through Bluetooth. A special type of wechat was released in April 2016 for companies and business owners.This type is called Enterprise WeChat (or Qiye Weixin). However, in some Asian countries like China, users who provide their bank details can use this wonderful application to order for goods and services, pay bills pay in stores if the stores have Wechat payment option and transfer money to other users.

- download the app for Android, iOS, windows, windows phones and Blackberry.
- create an account during installing.
- Make sure that you enter your mobile phone number, valid email address, password etc.
